Near

"with no one to fore tell their forgotten sound"
Even though the tides may crash
and the waves may rise, I will uprise,
I will be strong even if everything is going wrong
even if the floor underneath my feet vanishes
I will not give in because it is for you that I live.

Even if everything around me gives me
 a reason to look back
and the days seem like a blur , I wont surrender
please help me remember

When I would watch the sun break in the dawn
and I would run to you, in the
endless summer days

where the sun would shine its rays
and the trees would share its leaves
that fell onto the ground with no one to fore tell
their forgotten sound

the sun rose, the tide awoke, yet I still sit here
hoping you will come, to wipe this tear
that defines the moments when

you were near..

"you will... and then you will..."

"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."  Joshua 1:8

Here we see how much of importance the word of God is and how our life needs to revolve around it.
in this verse we can see some key points "meditate in it day and night" and  "observe to do according to all that is written in it". When taking time to read the bible we cannot be in a hurry, meditating in the word of God requires time, it is when we forget about
everything and we focus on what God wants to tell us through His word. When we simply read it we might even say, "oh what a nice passage!, (or verse)" but it will merely be superficial, there is something that nice passage is trying to tell us so lets meditate and make a prayer before so that God can give us the discernment to understand His word.

The other is  "observe to do according to all that is written in it" In this other key point is to observe, we must always observe ourselves if we are applying and obeying the word of God, if we are simply being filled with information or if we are living the word of God. You see that these are things that we have to do. God told Joshua this before he had to cross the Jordan river and only after doing this God told him, " For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success" If you pay attention to this line God told Joshua, "you will... and then you will..." He did not say I will. You see  that making his way prosperous and having good success was a consequence of what  Joshua would do.

You too my friend will make your way prosperous and have good success if you start making the promises of God alive in your life by understanding what God wants from you, and obeying!

Wherever you go

"Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land in which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go." Joshua 1:6-7

Before Joshua crossed the Jordan river along with the people God was giving out orders and commands as which to everything would take place and go according to Gods plan. In order for this great plan to come through God spoke to Joshua saying "only be strong and very courageous" God knew that it would take strength, and not only physical strength but spiritual strength to face this river that was before him. It would also take courage, imagine Joshua about to cross the Jordan river then backing down? God does not count with those who back down, so be strong and very courageous God is giving you the secret in overcoming this river of problems that has been before you.

The Lord also told Joshua to obey the law or word of God in which Moses had commanded him, not turning away to the right or left, or getting distracted, wanting to put his saying, no, but obeying just as commanded. Joshua must have needed to set his eyes on the goal until reaching it. Set your eyes on your goal by obeying Gods word only then will you see this goal realized.

The Lord told Joshua " that you may prosper wherever you go"  this meant that Joshua was going to be successful everywhere that he went.

God wants to prosper you and give you many blessings but you have to stand up against the situation you are living "only be strong and very courageous"

Courage:the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face
difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery.

Strong:not mild or weak, not easily subdued or taken

Who will go?

"After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites.  I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you"  Joshua 1  1-5

Just because Moses had died it did not stop Gods plans to be fulfilled or his promises, every plan God has every promise he has made will not be stopped until accomplished.

The LORD had chosen Joshua Moses's helper, after Moses's death to lead his people across the Jordan river to a land that the LORD was going to give to them, you see that God immediately after told Joshua to lead his people, he did not ask Joshua too or if he wanted to He gave a command.

The LORD also said "get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them"
dont you think that there was other routes to surpass the Jordan river? or go around it?
but He clearly said "cross" many are the times that we have tried to go our own way about
trying to solve our problems or the easy way, many times we have tried not to confront our problems but try to go around them, but God will only give us the victory if we obey his voice and fight these problems face to face, get ready!

Only after they would cross the jordan river then the LORD had promised to give the people the land, and Joshua every place were he set foot!
Now if you put in comparison what the LORD commanded Joshua to do and what God would give him in return it is nothing!

God had already granted Joshua his victory over everyone who would try to stand against him, not only for a day or week, or year but for ALL the days of his life how great is that?
God Honors those who obey Him and what greater honor than to know that He is with us.

God will always have much more to give us than what we give to him, what He wants to see is our obedience and our readiness!

why wait?

why wait for something you know you can fight for?
why wait for someone to do what was meant for you to do?
why keep doubting in yourself?
why keep thinking that you are not capable?
why keep comparing yourself to others?
why hold back?
why do you put yourself down?

and the list goes on....

Think about the things being asked and take a moment to reflect, really ask yourself "why?"

cont next week....

To be alive.

Fighting to be alive gave me the courage to stand up to life,
as I looked into its eyes it gazed into mine and took me through a journey in time
It showed me my weaknesses, it showed me my strengths
It taught me how to stand up but nothing less,
It showed me my abilities and all of the possibilities,
It showed me hardships that would come along in this harsh trip.
It showed me it was lended
and your choices determined where your life ended.
It taught me to live it wisely, for we never know when we would take our last breath and everything we have lived for would disappear before what our eyes see.
So I took this challenge to stand up to life,
and make the right decisions that helped me stay ALIVE.

I found YOU

The light shimmered in the bright morning view,
as I tried to see you
the breeze rolled in so that I could find my way to
where we took our last step,
the sea collided with the horizon
so that i would have a reason to follow where we had met
you never let me forget,

I found you, when all was lost I found you
when my legs were weak you found me
when I tried to find a way you led me
when I was alone you loved me,
and when I held my breath you saved me ..
I found YOU
