I hoped.

When I think of the times that I gazed into the sky
I remember when you were near by
I cannot imagine a day without you
everything in your absence is gone.

I thought of ways yet I came up with none
do not let me forget
everything you do is said and done

I hoped I would have all the words to
express myself to you,
but they would not be enough..

If only..

The unwritten words formed in my thoughts 
of untold stories that played on and on...
and as the road vanished before me 
the steps you once took
grew you farther until I could no longer see you
The moon stared back down at the sea
yet you did not take a glance where we had met.
& the long gone memories we knew ...
became blurry remembrances, if only I could forget..
